The Youth Development Coordinator will coordinate Positive Youth Development (PYD) strategies in North Central MA, identifying data and collaborating with community partners to promote asset development among youth. The Coordinator works under the direction of the Director of Community Engagement and Support (CES) Services. The Coordinator will also build relationships with and work collaboratively with respective city/town representatives, multi-disciplinary team members, host-site partners, schools, youth serving organizations and service providers to assure a coordinated approach to social emotional well-being, and bullying and violence prevention in North Central Massachusetts. Responsibilities will also include providing training and technical assistance to community partners to implement bullying and violence prevention initiatives among youth, PYD activities, policy and practice change, educational events and activities for youth and their parents, and build the capacity of communities to prevent bullying and youth violence. The successful candidate will also supervise youth development staff.
The qualified candidate will have a Master’s Degree in Human Services (preferred), Public Health, Social Work, or a closely related field and 3 years of experience working with at-risk youth and families. Knowledge of behavioral health, bullying and violence prevention, Positive Youth Development, AmeriCorps, and cultural responsiveness preferred. Group facilitation and strong relationship-building skills required. Excellent communication and computer skills required. Valid driver’s license and own transportation required.
This is a full time position located in Central Massachusetts and will include community-based travel and implementation. Bilingual/Bicultural candidates are encouraged to apply.
