Warranty Performance Lead

Summary:

As a Warranty Performance Lead, you would collaborate with other Warranty Performance personnel, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, Finance and other business stakeholders and Supply Base, and engage in the crafting and execution of net warranty reduction and cost recovery strategies. Chosen candidates will be part of a team responsible for providing background information, creative approaches based on analyzed qualitative and quantitative data, thoughtful presentations and innovative strategies.

Description:

The Warranty Performance Lead strategizes and executes net warranty reduction and cost recovery activities from initiation through case closure. The role requires analysis of the issues, development of strategy and obtaining cross functional alignment. Work involves functioning as liaison between Purchasing, Engineering, Supplier Quality, Internal Product Investigations, Manufacturing and suppliers to drive net warranty reduction and recover costs related to field actions and warranty. Considerable initiative, attention to detail and independent judgement is required. A successful candidate will demonstrate ability to:

• Locate, synthesize and make visible cross functional partner and supplier information

• Frame and drive strategies and decisions balancing business considerations

• Anticipate risk and opportunities throughout the process

• Communicate clearly through standalone presentations, leadership reviews, team meetings and 1:1 discussions with senior leaders

• Help remove roadblocks and escalate as needed

This role involves a high level of independent judgment and ingenuity.

The ability to work cross functionally and with various levels of management is a necessity.

Hybrid:

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Defines cost recovery strategy, obtains cross functional alignment with key stakeholders and leads execution

• Functions as liaison with Suppliers to drive a firm position on supplier “shareable” responsibility for warranty (TF), in order to facilitate cost recovery settlement from suppliers

• Leads cross functional activities with Engineering and QRD teams to facilitate final sample dispositions and engages Purchasing where commercial engagement and discussion is required

• Executes Pareto analysis to identify recovery groups for greatest cost recovery opportunities

• Resolves disputes of recovery groups, technical factors and billing statements

• Supports Transaction Maintenance activities within Partlink and tracks and communicates status of cost recovery results as well as writes and sends supplier debits

• Manages net warranty reduction imperatives, financial and resource risk assessment and uncertainties through effective decision framing and driving for resolution

• Integrates inputs from stakeholders, while representing cost recovery team

• Maintains effectiveness in changing environments and global regions

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience with major automotive OEM or Supplier

• Strong drive for results and history of driving high performance teams

• Evidence of strong framing and communication skills

• Understanding of many aspects of the business: including Purchasing, Engineering and Finance

• Negotiation skills

• Preferred ability to understand & interpret warranty data

• High level of analytical ability where problems are complex

• Excellent interpersonal skills to lead teams to consensus

• Ability to work independently, in ambiguous situations and out of process
