Position Summary

The VP of E-Commerce and Digital Connected Retail Technology (Remote) is a visionary and strategic leader tasked with steering the design, development, and enhancement of our e-commerce and omni-channel associate and customer facing platforms. This executive role encompasses leading a dynamic team to evolve technology solutions that improve customer and Sleep Expert experiences across all digital and physical interactions. The successful candidate will collaborate with various departments including enterprise IT, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Retail Operations to drive business growth and elevate customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Spearhead the strategic planning and execution of e-commerce and omni-channel initiatives to bolster user experience, drive store and digital traffic and sales growth, and enhance operational efficiency.
• Direct the development and refinement of the company’s online platforms including mattressfirm.com, DreamHub store associate facing application including customer profile, clienteling, lead management and product/service knowledge management, store associate & customer communication platforms, and Sleep.com mobile app, ensuring cohesive integration for a seamless customer experience.
• Partner with product teams to propel digital transformation projects, utilizing data analytics for strategic decision-making and customizing the customer journey.
• Oversee the technology vendor landscape, conducting negotiations, and ensuring the delivery of superior services and solutions within agreed budgets and timelines.
• Evaluates and recommends e-commerce investments & initiatives and leads the development of business cases
• Lead the charge in adopting cutting-edge technologies and digital trends, incorporating best practices collaborating with internal partners in cybersecurity, data privacy, and regulatory compliance.
• Cultivate a culture of innovation within the technology team, promoting experimentation and the adoption of novel tools and methodologies.
• Strategically manage the technology development budget to optimally allocate resources towards achieving business objectives.
• Guide, mentor, and develop a high-performance technology team, nurturing an atmosphere of collaboration, professional growth, and operational excellence.
• **Design and oversee the implementation of scalable and secure systems architecture that supports the company's e-commerce and omni-channel platforms, ensuring high availability, performance, and agility in response to business needs.**
• **Act as a key architect in developing and maintaining a comprehensive Digital Connected Retail infrastructure blueprint, focusing on integrating new technologies that streamline operations and enhance customer interactions across channels.**
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field, with an MBA or similar advanced degree preferred.
• Over 10 years of experience in e-commerce and digital technology roles, including at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
• Demonstrated success in developing and executing e-commerce strategies and omni-channel solutions.
• Strong technical foundation with expertise in digital marketing technologies, CRM systems, web and mobile application development, data analytics, and systems architecture.
• Outstanding leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and lead cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
• Proficient in negotiation, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Comprehensive understanding of the digital ecosystem, emerging technologies, and the application of this knowledge in a pragmatic, results-oriented manner.
• Experience in budget management, vendor relations, and technology partnerships.
• **Deep knowledge of systems architecture principles, including experience in architecting scalable, secure, and resilient e-commerce and omni-channel solutions.**
• **Proven ability in the strategic planning and deployment of IT infrastructure to support business objectives, with a focus on enhancing customer experience and operational efficiency.**
  
  

This role reports directly to the Chief Digital Officer with a dotted line to the CIO and is designed for a leader who not only has a passion for technology and customer experience but also possesses deep expertise in systems architecture to drive digital innovation and business growth. Pay Range

$200,000 - $250,000
