As a key leadership position within the SalonCentric organization, the Vice-President of Category Management and Merchandising, this role is responsible for managing the end-to-end P&L and delivering key performance metrics of sales, profit and inventory for business units delivering in excess of $500m. The Vice-President of Category Management and Merchandising sets and executes strategies for assortments, promotions and promotional effectiveness, marketing (social, digital, print, in store and go to market), productive inventory metrics, brand rosters, event (show) coordination, team leadership and communication effectiveness for a range of Partner Brands. A successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to develop and implement a successful go-to-market strategy and coordinate an omni channel implementation through clearly and effectively communicating/coordinating plans to channel leaders and brand managers.
Position Responsibilities
Lead, develop and coach a business unit of 20 or more people
Oversee a business which delivers in excess of $500m in (wholesale) sales
Actively drive growth of overall SC Business through high volume, high profit Brands as well as new Brand Partnerships
Overall relationship management of between 70+ brand partnerships
Meet or exceed sales and profit goals
Deliver inventory and turn goals at the store and distribution center levels, including managing levels of unproductive stock
Determine a productive and segmented product mix and store assortment
Plan promotional buys/commitments
Evaluate and discover new trends, products and brands
Manage and negotiate contracts with current and new brand partners
Communicate and collaborate with cross functional department heads to ensure implementation of business plans
Communicate and collaborate with each brand manager to align on and deliver goals
Communicate and collaborate with VP, AVP and director peers to share best methods and create efficiencies
Create and present business strategies to internal and external audiences
Develop programs and initiatives to drive AVT and Traffic to SalonCentric
Identify new market opportunities and assortment gaps
Attend retail, industry and company trade shows/events
Foster an environment that welcomes change and promotes high levels of ingenuity, integrity, creative thinking, risk tolerance and collaboration
