Job Title: Vice President of Engineering

Salary: $250k - $300k

Location: East Coast


A leading metal 3D Printing company is hiring a Vice President of Engineering to drive business development and strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the aerospace and defense sectors, along with expertise in 3D printing technology.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead a team of mechanical, process & materials engineers to bring about improvements in product quality and cost.
  • Lead and expand the engineering team, enhancing technical capabilities and driving innovation.
  • Develop and execute a clear technical vision aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Support business development efforts by providing technical expertise and solutions.
  • Prioritize R&D investments and assess market trends and competition.
  • Cultivate relationships with industry leaders and seek new technology funding opportunities.
  • Oversee technical aspects of product development and delivery.
  • Manage product definition and technical requirements process.
  • Drive IP strategy and maintain product life cycle plans.
  • Foster a culture of speed and continuous improvement.
  • Select and manage external technical resources.


Qualifications:


Essential:

  • Master's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 20+ years of engineering experience, preferably in the Aerospace or Defense industries.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience.
  • Specific expertise in 3D printing, both metal and polymer ideally parts business.
  • Experience in linking the road map to the commercial side of the business.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. citizen status.


Preferred:

  • PhD in Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with obtaining technical patents.
  • Knowledge of start-ups and commercial financing.
  • Established presence at aerospace conferences.
  • Current security clearance.
