Vice President Talent Management

Overview

The Vice President of Talent Management plays a pivotal role in driving organizational growth through the strategic development of training programs, talent management initiatives, and internal communication strategies.

This position requires a seasoned professional with expertise in talent management, training and development for retail and multi-unit environments, organizational development, change management and multi-unit communication to front line team members. This role will be critical to the development of a robust talent engine to scale and fuel the growth of talent for Sprouts.

The successful candidate will lead efforts to build a culture of continuous learning, support the development of teams and individuals, and strengthen bench talent within the organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer, this role will also oversee internal communications efforts, establishing a cohesive voice and effective communication channels across the organization, while providing support to our store team members as the primary audience.

Overview Of Responsibilities

Talent Management & Organizational Development

  • Understand organizational goals and purpose, asses current and future marketplace to build a long-term strategy and talent engine.
  • Work closely with the CHRO to further define and more intentionally grow our culture.
  • Lead organizational development efforts, including succession planning and talent review.
  • Build bench strength by identifying and developing internal talent.
  • Lead internal coaching practice and develop “leaders as coaches” concept at Sprouts.
  • Utilize surveys and assessments to drive organizational effectiveness.
  • Lead organizational design and development in partnership with senior leaders and HR business partners.


Talent Development

  • Responsible for end-to-end talent and training strategy to position Sprouts as a Best Place to Work.
  • Cultivate a culture of development and continuous learning within the organization.
  • Align our training and development strategy to overall People Strategy for Sprouts.
  • Build robust leadership development programs across the organization.
  • Develop skill based and leadership development training resources.
  • Lead technology decisions and optimization to enable training across the enterprise.


Internal Communications

  • Spearhead internal communications strategy and establish a cohesive voice across multiple channels.
  • Select tools and effective communications channels to develop and engage our team members.
  • Refine our internal voice through simple and straightforward language and building on our Sproutie persona.
  • Align communications to support and enhance company growth initiatives, executive initiatives, and team member engagement.
  • Select communications channels to reach team members on the front line.
  • Identify and implement technology for two-way communications and team member feedback.
  • Ensure internal branding and articulation of employee value proposition remains aligned with Sprouts purpose and values and branding position.


Change Management

  • Lead change management efforts through our Enterprise Project Management (EPM) office and align closely with finance, IT, vice president EPM and executive stakeholders.
  • Guide and advise proactive change management initiatives and develop plans for company-wide changes through organizational structure, communications, and training.
  • Analyze and refine change management impacts.
  • Build stakeholder adoption through communication and engagement.
  • Assess business readiness for change.
  • Build and manage internal OCM toolkit and templates.
  • Manage learning advisory board to evolve to broader change management advisory as appropriate for the organization.
  • Work effectively across HR and partner closely with our Business Partners and other specialist areas.


Qualifications

  • Degree in Human Resources or related experience required.
  • Lead through Sprouts vales of care, own it and love being different.
  • Proven experience in training and development strategy, particularly in retail and multi-unit environments.
  • Demonstrate understanding of strategic planning related to communications and development.
  • Demonstrated success in talent management, organizational development, and succession planning.
  • Strong understanding of surveys and assessments for organizational effectiveness
  • Experience in change leadership in a multi-unit environment; change certification preferred.
  • Expertise in change management and building change plans for company initiatives.
  • Experience in internal communications, including strategy development and channel management.
  • Engaging written communication, job aids and infographics.
  • Clear and concise verbal communication.
  • Propensity for learning and understanding the talent industry.
  • Passion for Sprouts and building a “great place to work” culture.
