Job Description:

• Integrate Chinese culture into courses and events, enhancing the learning process of Mandarin for Students.
• Design test items, academic assignments, and assessments to evaluate students' proficiency in language acquisition based on the standard American Counsil on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL).
• Conduct research on education industry trends on language acquisition, curriculum design, integration of new educational methods and technologies, and domestic/international education standards of implement findings into curriculum and programs.
• Select and evaluate educational technology resources that support students' active learning, conversation, exploration, and self-expression in terms of four domains of language literacy (speaking, listening, writing, and reading).
• Teach Mandarin Chinese classes in the Upper School from beginning to advanced level.
• Design learning activities and assign homework assignments daily, use the target language and provide comprehensive input.
• Integrate innovative technology tools into the classroom, conduct various student-centered assessment projects.
• Answer students' questions during Conference Period, provide effective and timely feedback, maintain student grades, comments, and progress records.
• Attend weekly student review and world languages department meetings, collaborate with other teachers on pedagogical practices and curriculum development.
• Serve as the advisor of about 5-10 upper school students by communicating with advisees' parents and teachers, support academic performance, problem solving, and skill development at all levels.
  
  

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree, or the foreign equivalent, and one (1) year of experience with Chinese curriculum development.

Annual wage/salary: $70,475
