Recommended Matches in Recruiter and Recruiter Lite

Last updated: 2 weeks ago

Recommended Matches in LinkedIn Recruiter and Recruiter Lite uncovers candidates you have not identified yet, powered by your real-time hiring activities, job posting, and LinkedIn members' job seeking activities. Recommended Matches is designed to help you find the right people when you have limited knowledge or time to iterate your search. After you create a project and save or hide or message candidates, Recommended Matches will learn from your hiring activities (e.g., save, or hide, or message), and proactively surface candidates for you.

Recommended Matches expands your talent pool, saves time, and increases InMail acceptance. With Recommended Matches, you will discover up to 10% new and qualified candidates, on top of your Recruiter search results. Candidates found by Recommended Matches are up to 35% more likely to accept your InMails than candidates found by Recruiter search alone. With Recommended Matches, you can quickly find fresh candidates daily, without spending hours on search. The more you interact with Recruiter, the better results you will discover on Recommended Matches.

How Recommend Matches work

Recommended Matches is constantly evolving, learning every day from millions of hiring, job seeking, and job posting activities we call "signals". It leverages AI to surface candidates based on three key dimensions:

  • Your real-time hiring signals, such as saving, hiding or messaging candidates. Saving or messaging candidates provides a positive signal on a potential fit, while hiding candidates provides a negative signal on a potential fit.
  • Your job posting signals, such as job titles, locations and skills.
  • LinkedIn members’ job seeking signals, such as Open to work, and more likely to change jobs.

As you act on a candidate, the list of Recommended Matches will update immediately and display a new set of recommendations. To view the entire list of Recommended Matches, click Recommended matches at the top of the Talent pool tab or Pipeline tab within a project. To improve the Recommended Matches location results, you can set the location in the Project settings tab of your project.

Recommended Matches categories

Candidates are grouped into categories displayed across the top of the page. Each category provides insight into why candidates are being recommended. You might get fewer or no Recommended Matches for non-standardized job titles and particular search parameters.

Categories may include:

  • All recommended matches — All your candidate recommendations, in one place.
  • Today's top matches — Inspired by ongoing activity in this project.
  • Open to work — Candidates actively looking for a job. This category is available in Recruiter only and isn’t available in Recruiter Lite.

Similar Profiles helps you find quality candidates by:
    • Showing better results. Similar Profiles considers all your hiring activities, including when you save, message, or hide a candidate.
    • Displaying more similar profiles. You can discover up to 25 similar candidates in Recommended Matches.
    • Showing more talent information. The Similar Profiles category in Recommended Matches shows detailed talent information, including experience, education, and interest.
