Types of LinkedIn Groups

Last updated: 1 month ago

There are three types of groups on LinkedIn:

  • Private Listed Groups appear in search results on LinkedIn. The group is visible to other members on your LinkedIn profile under Interests. Any person, on or off LinkedIn can see posts in the group. LinkedIn users can see whether a connection is a member. Group members can see posts in this group.

  • Private Unlisted Groups do not appear in search results for non-group members and are not visible to others on your LinkedIn profile. You can access an Unlisted Group through a direct link, or when invited. Group members can see posts in this group.

  • Public Groups appear in search results on LinkedIn. The group is visible to other members on your LinkedIn profile under Interests. Any person, on or off LinkedIn view posts in the group.
