Troubleshoot creating a LinkedIn Page

Last updated: 1 year ago

With LinkedIn Pages, you can help members learn more about your business or school, brand, products and services, and job opportunities. If you see an error message when creating a Page, review the sections below for common issues.

Important to know

LinkedIn Pages should represent your business or school, not a LinkedIn member profile. For the safety and trust of our members, personal profiles that represent businesses or groups rather than authentic member names might be flagged as spam or abuse.

New LinkedIn account

If you recently created your LinkedIn account, you’ll need to wait at least one day before creating a Page.

Not enough LinkedIn connections

To create a Page, your LinkedIn account must have more than one connection with another member. Send invitations to connect with people you know on LinkedIn before you try creating a Page.

LinkedIn URL already in use

Each Page needs to have a unique public URL. If your desired URL is taken, you'll need to select a different URL. For example, if linkedin.com/company/abc is already in use, you can try linkedin.com/company/abcinc.

Page with the same name already exists

A Page representing your organization might already exist on LinkedIn. Check to see if the existing Page represents your organization. If your organization already has a Page, you can request admin access to it instead of creating a new Page.

If the existing Page represents a different organization, you can create a new Page for your organization, but you'll need to select a LinkedIn URL that hasn't already been taken.

Created too many Pages in one day

To help prevent spam, there are limits on how many Pages you can create in a day. If you receive this error message, wait at least 24 hours before you create another Page.

More than 25 Showcase Pages

Each LinkedIn Page can only have 25 or fewer associated Showcase Pages. To create an additional Showcase Page for your LinkedIn Page, you can deactivate inactive Showcase Pages.

Browser issues

If the above issues don’t apply, try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies or using a different browser.
