Digital Markets Act

Last updated: 2 months ago

We are making changes to LinkedIn for members in the European Economic Area or Switzerland to comply with new requirements imposed by the Digital Markets Act (DMA). We’re committed to complying with the DMA and following the local laws that apply to us.

Starting in February 2024, Members based in the EEA and Switzerland can choose whether to connect their core LinkedIn professional networking experience across our jobs, marketing solutions and learning courses features. This matters because we tailor your experiences on LinkedIn based on what we learn from your engagement with the services on our platform. We use that information to provide you with recommendations for people, content, jobs, ads, and learning courses that can help you get ahead in your career. If you choose to keep your core LinkedIn experience (including feed, messaging, and search) connected with other LinkedIn services you may use, we’ll be able to better tailor these experiences for you, resulting in job recommendations, ads and learning content that are more relevant to your career interests. If you don’t keep these services connected to your core LinkedIn experience, you will have a less tailored experience. Your choice will not have any impact on your ability to use the LinkedIn services you had access to prior to your choice. You can learn more here.

As part of our work to comply with other DMA requirements, we’re also rolling out new APIs that will enable our members and customers (including through their authorized developers) to better access their data on LinkedIn. One such API is already live, other APIs will follow. Note for members: This API access is in addition to your existing data access rights under GDPR. See here and here for how to exercise your data subject rights under GDPR.
