Access country specific employment types

Last updated: 2 years ago
You can now select employment types that are specific to the country in which you’ve worked and more accurately represent your professional experience.

Note: You must change the location on your introduction section in order to access a new employment type list that is country specific when you’re adding or editing the experience section.

To edit your location from your profile:

  1. Click the Me icon at top of your LinkedIn homepage.
  2. Click View Profile.

  3. Click the Edit icon in your introduction section.
  4. From the Edit intro pop-up window that appears, scroll down to Location.

  5. Select your Country/Region from the dropdown.
Note: This is a required field.

  6. Depending on the country you select, you’ll be given the option to add your:
    • City/District
    • Postal code
  7. Click Save.
Note: Country specific employment types will be translated only to the language indicated by the member’s language setting, if an equivalent employment type exists in that language. Employment types for a country that don’t have an equivalent in the member’s interface language will display the original term in its origin language. For example, "Funcionario" is a new Spain employment type. The term "Funcionario" doesn’t conceptually exist in the English language. If the member’s country is Spain but their interface language is English, then the member will see "Funcionario" listed in their employment type dropdown.
