Before and after you deactivate a LinkedIn Page or Showcase Page

Last updated: 3 months ago

Your LinkedIn Page or Showcase Page can only be deactivated by a super admin of the Page.

If your organization is no longer in operation or has been rebranded, we suggest keeping your Page active so current and former employees can maintain their work experience association on their LinkedIn profile. If the organization is active but you’re no longer affiliated with them, you can remove yourself as an admin from the Page.

To deactivate your Page, you'll need to meet the below criteria:

  • The Page is active.

  • You’re a super admin of the Page and currently signed in to LinkedIn.

  • If the page you want to deactivate was auto-created by LinkedIn, you may be able to claim and deactivate if you meet the eligibility criteria.

  • The Page doesn't have any active Showcase Pages. If you have active Showcase pages, a super admin of the Showcase Page(s) can deactivate them at any time to deactivate your company Page.

  • The Page doesn't have a Career Page. Please contact us if your page has a Career Page.

  • The Page doesn’t have affiliated Pages. Please contact us to remove affiliations with other Pages.

  • The Page has fewer than 100 associated employees.

  • The Page doesn’t have any active or paused ad campaigns. Please ensure that you delete or archive any active or paused ad campaigns associated with your Page.

  • The company hasn't been acquired.

  • The Page doesn't have any published Product Pages. If you have published Product Pages, a super or content admin of the Page can unpublish Product Page(s) at any time to deactivate your company Page.

Here's a tip

If you’d like to use your current Page URL for a new Page, please contact us for assistance before deactivating your Page.

Results of Page deactivation:

  • Your Page URL can be repurposed for another Page upon request by other Page admins.

  • If a member previously added the company to the Experience section of their profile, the deactivated Page name will still appear on their profile. However, the logo will be replaced by a placeholder image, and the link to your Page will be removed.

  • After a Page is deactivated, super admins will receive an email confirmation along with a link to reactivate the Page.
