Data collection and storage for LinkedIn Matched Audiences

Last updated: 1 month ago
When you use Matched Audiences, we implement security safeguards designed to protect your data.

Website retargeting

For website retargeting:

  • Your data is stored in the LinkedIn data center.
  • The LinkedIn Insight Tag drops a cookie on your visitors' web browsers when they visit your website. Cookie information is matched against LinkedIn’s member data to build your audience. Direct identifiers are removed from this data within seven days, and the data is deleted at 180 days.

  • An anonymous segment of matched LinkedIn members becomes available for targeting within your Campaign Manager advertising account once the audience segment reaches at least 300 people.
  • Matched LinkedIn members are deleted on a rolling basis. The time until deletion depends on the time range of engagement you chose when you created your segment (between 30 and 180 days). Your audience segment will not include any LinkedIn members whose last visit to your website was more than the number of days specified in your segment.
