Join us throughout June as we spotlight FEMA's Public Assistance Program! Public Assistance Spotlight is a month-long campaign to highlight the Public Assistance Program and partnerships in FEMA Region 10. This month will focus on what Public Assistance does and how it supports efficient and effective community recovery. Public Assistance delivers FEMA grant assistance to local, tribal and state governments and their agencies; houses of worship, and certain private nonprofit applicants following a disaster declaration. After an event like an earthquake or wildfire, communities need help to cover their costs for debris removal, life-saving emergency protective measures, and restoring public infrastructure. The below Public Assistance Categories of Work graphic shows some examples of what may be funded following a disaster. Download a high-resolution PDF version of this graphic: https://lnkd.in/gUE22MEq

The FEMA Supplemental Response Team (SRT) Program held a 3-day training recently with members of the Cherokee Nation Emergency Incident Management Team (IMT) in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. The training was an introduction to the SRT Program and information in preparation for the team to deploy to supplement FEMA disaster operations. While FEMA develops, maintains, and deploys many different partners with all-hazards capabilities, SRTs elevate these efforts by leveraging already established all-hazards incident management teams that have a strong organization structure that allow them to easily adapt to the specific needs of incidents. Additionally, SRTs encourage further relationship building between FEMA and emergency management stakeholders while building their capability, capacity, and resiliency through additional training, exercise, and deployment opportunities. To learn more about the SRT program and teams that participate, email fema-supplemental-response-teams@fema.dhs.gov.
