Change is about people. Most change management focused on process. We have to get to the why for persona themes in order to get to the who and that what. Value-based change can be just as important as skill and process. Fundamentals in each are critical.
-
In my view Porter's 5 Forces capture the main change drivers for any organization, regardless of size, scale or market position. In that sense there is a little to no difference between individual and corporate behaviors, motivation and decision making process related to Change. Change resulting from organizational maturity and/or external forces is usually the most durable, accepted and easily adopted. In other words change born out of necessity is usually more deep rooted and easily accepted, than one simply driven by the desire to adopt best practices, even for models such as ITSM/ITIL, Agile, PMBok, etc.
If you are looking for a more advanced and practical course, you can consider the Prosci Change Management Certification program. This program is based on the Prosci ADKAR Model, which is a widely used framework for managing individual and organizational change. You will learn how to assess the change readiness, develop a change strategy, design and execute a change plan, and measure and sustain the change outcomes. You will also work on a real change project of your choice and receive feedback from Prosci experts. The program is delivered online in three days and costs $4,400 USD.

I've completed this certification and went back to Prosci in 2020 for Train-the-Trainer so I could deliver it myself! The (practitioner) Certification entails a three day-long workshop aimed at understanding the change management model; it requires you to bring a real-life project to the workshop and you leave with practical tools that you've drafted and received feedback on, to begin providing value immediately upon your return to work.
-
I used to describe myself as a full time leader with a part time change manager role. When I made my career transition to flip over, I did a lot of research and talked to a lot of people about different ways of augmenting my existing knowledge. I decided to take the Prosci certification because it stood out for being highly practical and immediately applicable. Not only that, the course is designed in a way that you have a chance to interact with people from very different backgrounds and levels of experience. This means that you not only go away with the framework and methodology, but also new connections outside of your usual echo chamber which is an often underrated asset.
-
I.would.recommend Prosci.practitioner training to.gain deeper.imsights and have the practical toolkits, templates and access.to.the research / community support. It's a very reliable.way to accelerate the maturity ladder to become a change expert. Also.for.large.organization, subscribe to the Prosci enterprise license to.jump.start the standardisation and enterprise.knowlege management.

Prosci methodology is a structured approach to change management, focusing on understanding, preparing for, and implementing organizational change effectively. Prosci's ADKAR model (Awareness, Desire, Knowledge, Ability, Reinforcement) is a key component, guiding organizations through individual transitions during change initiatives. We can used in addition some AGILE methodologies to foster collaboration, trust, feedback, transparency, empowerment and customer satisfaction. Both are really useful in change management.
-
Beyond the practical skills and methodology, the Prosci Certification Program sets you apart as a recognized change professional. Joining a global community of over 100,000 certified practitioners opens doors to networking opportunities, job prospects specifically seeking the credential, and access to Prosci's exclusive resource library, giving you an edge in navigating the ever-evolving change management landscape.
If you are working in an agile environment or want to adopt agile principles for change management, you can check out the Agile Change Management course offered by the Agile Business Consortium (ABC). This course will help you understand the agile mindset, values, and principles, and how they apply to change management. You will learn how to use agile methods and tools, such as Scrum, Kanban, and Lean, to deliver change faster and more effectively. In today’s fast paced world it’s often prudent to test and course correct than layout a grand plan that can fall apart because it was not stress tested in its various phases. Agile as a mind set offers the collaborative evolution of the final solution that has been seen, experienced and therefore would be amenable to all!
-
Let’s talk benefits and most importantly; what’s for them first. Generating interest will lead to adopting mindset; that’s the ‘change’ rest other things are then easy to implement whatever process/platform/tools etc you want to make! Without genuine interest and authentic things nothing will happen.
-
In order to decide on the right Change Management certification, you must be clear on the end goal, the areas/industries you plan to impact through Change Management and if you are planning on a global reach or have a specific geographic practise area. Once you can confirm the above variables, then research the designations and which one fits your needs.
-
Embrace the sprint, not the marathon: Agile Change Management methodologies break down change into bite-sized sprints, fostering continuous feedback and rapid adaptation. This iterative approach is perfect for today's dynamic business landscape, allowing you to navigate uncertainty and capitalize on emerging opportunities. Learning these skills opens doors to exciting roles in Agile project management, product ownership, and business analysis, while certifications like SAFe and CSM add a star to your resume. Remember, agility isn't just for software anymore - it's a future-proof skill for change agents across all industries.
-
Haven't taken this course but the concept of Agile integrated with change management feels like a natural progression, for the price point, I think it is worth picking up skills in both areas.
If you are a leader or aspiring leader who wants to drive change in your organization, you can enroll in the Change Management for Leaders course offered by the Australian Institute of Management (AIM). This course will help you develop your leadership skills and capabilities for change management. You will learn how to create a compelling vision, communicate effectively, inspire and motivate others, overcome resistance, and foster a culture of change. You will also gain insights from case studies and best practices of successful change leaders. The course is online and self-paced, and costs $695 AUD.
-
Not recommending a specific course here. I’d like to comment on the leaders’ role in making change happen. There is the obvious part of instating the vision and establishing accountability. But the hidden part is more tricky. Leaders must have a great deal of patience and avoid judgements throughout the course of change which could be extremely long. It’s easy to forget that especially when dealing with daily operations. Rashid Yaghi

I haven't taken this course, but I will say that I've enjoyed reading and following change leaders from Australia on LinkedIn - there is a lot of thought leadership coming from there! :) I also believe that change leaders should be developed at all levels across an organization. However, equipping middle management and senior leaders with greater awareness of their role in making change a success will always be a winning strategy.
-
Une chose que je trouve indispensable pour les dirigeants c’est de prendre en compte la gestion du changement et surtout la « résistance » au changement qui reste inévitable dans quelque organisation que ce soit.
-
This course is especially valuable snd impactful if you are leading a team of professionals who are leading other teams. Gaining the perspective of a higher level view of change management can and does offer the opportunity to provide a bit of “jet fuel” for any organization. Inspiring the team of leaders in your charge is a powerful tool.

One thing I've heard consistently from clients who are project managers, is that there is a lack of change management education from PMI (which is how they found me). Many PMs are tasked are asked to take on change management activities due to the nature of the change / lack of resources, which means upskilling project professionals in change management is a good investment. At the same time, I would suggest that anyone who has responsibility for leading or implementing change [initiatives, projects, culture change, etc] should get trained in change management. The skills can be leveraged in any role - I know this from personal experience.
-
Since it's an upskill, I would assume that I have ,so are most leaders, the basic knowledge of different models of change management. Therefore, I would love to take this course as to thoroughly know the different models, approaches and strategies to apply one or more on different projects as per the needs. I believe that learning and acquiring the needed skills of one model is not enough as the project I am leading may not be a good fit to these specific strategies. As a leader who wants to manage change, I should know different models to be able to analyse my case and choose the best that works well in regards to the resources available for my project.
-
You cannot underestimate the importance of change management! Every process transformation that doesn't realise it's full potential or ROI is not always because it was ill-conceived or poorly implemented. It's because it was badly executed - there was a lack of understanding and appreciation of the human element, the impact on people and their behaviours.
-
Understanding various change management models is essential, but it's equally important to recognize that there's no one-size-fits-all approach to managing change in organizations. Every organization has its unique culture, structure, and challenges. Knowing what will work best in your specific context allows you to tailor your change management strategies effectively. By being open to taking elements from different models, you can create a customized approach that aligns with your organization's needs, ensuring a higher chance of successful change implementation. This flexibility and adaptability are key to addressing the unique dynamics of your organization.

The dizzying array of change management training available makes it essential to 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲. ▪ Are you seeking a credential to validate your proficiency in change management, or do you want to deepen your knowledge and skills? ▪ What level of OCM maturity do you seek (foundational, intermediate, advanced)? ▪ What areas do you need within Change Management for your job (change strategy, comms, change impacts, leadership, training, change sustainment, etc)? This tailored approach will help you decide which online training programs will best support your personal and professional growth.
-
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to Change Management. A single course will provide foundations, but this is an area of lifelong learning as you adapt to the needs of each organization. Dive into materials outside of whatever course or certification you choose. There are hundreds of books on the topic and articles abound in well respected business journals. Between audio and written books, podcasts and articles, it’s easy to incorporate OCM content into a monthly routine of insights. Aim to get new ideas and perspective flowing regularly and integrate psychology, sociology, and people management techniques into your approaches for the most success. Be creative and open to ideas others bring to the table and be ready to experiment.

two reputable options are : 1. Prosci's Change Management Certification Program: - Offered by Prosci, a leading change management solutions provider. - Provides a comprehensive approach to change management, focusing on methodologies and best practices. 2. Coursera - Leading Change: - Offered by the University of California, Irvine, on Coursera. - Covers essential concepts of leading and managing organizational change. - Allows participants to learn at their own pace with online videos, readings, and assignments. Additionally, explore other reputable platforms such as LinkedIn Learning, Udemy, or edX, as they often host change management courses from various providers.
-
Training and actual experience are two different things. Especially when it comes to change management. There are just as many books on change management as there are child rearing. Nothing goes to plan. Reach out to those in your organisation who are involved in change management initiatives. Volunteer. Reach out to those in your network and get their insights. At the same time you’ll build your cred and network for future opportunities.
