When selecting the right collaboration software for your team and goals, there are many options to consider, from basic chat and video conferencing tools to more in-depth platforms that support brainstorming, ideation, prototyping, and feedback. Factors such as the size and diversity of your team, the complexity of the creative task, the level of engagement and interaction you want to achieve, and your budget and technical requirements should all be taken into account. Depending on the stage and scope of your creative process, you may need to utilize more than one software; for instance, you could use a chat tool to set the agenda and expectations, a video conferencing tool to host a live session, and a whiteboard or mind mapping tool for generating and organizing ideas.

A Fool with a Tool is still a Fool. Tools alone are not enough to be creative and successful. You also need the right knowledge and the ability to use them profitably. Key factors are: ✔️ Ease of use ✔️ Reliability ✔️ Customizability ✔️ Security ✔️ Performance ✔️ and support. Before introducing new software, two key questions are helpful: What central problem does it solve (for what specific goal)? What is its indispensable advantage? Hypothesis: Every company already has a wide range of software solutions whose benefits are either unclear or whose potential is far from being fully exploited. This is all the more true for AI. Here, as there, empowerment is a basic prerequisite for good results and return on investment.

When it comes to choosing collaboration software for my team, I've found it's not just about the features—it's about finding the right fit for our unique goals and dynamics. Considering factors like team size, project complexity, and desired level of engagement is crucial. Personally, I've found that combining different tools based on the stage of our creative process has been effective. From setting agendas to brainstorming ideas, having the right software arsenal ensures smooth collaboration and productivity.

The next step is to prepare the software and the team for the creative session. This means ensuring that everyone has access to the software, knows how to use it, and has the necessary equipment and resources. You may need to provide some training or guidance on how to use the software effectively and troubleshoot any issues. You may also need to test the software beforehand and make sure it works well with your internet connection and devices.
You also need to prepare the team by informing them of the purpose, objectives, and expectations of the creative session. You may need to send them some background information, questions, or prompts to stimulate their thinking and spark their curiosity. You may also need to establish some ground rules and norms for using the software, such as how to communicate, share, and contribute.
-
Provide clear instructions... Schedule training sessions.. Establish ground rules... Encourage experimentation: Encourage team members to explore the software's features and experiment with different ways to use it for creative collaboration.

I believe get to know your time on a daily basis is actually the golden key to activities like this. So you’ll probably know well what shape, rhythm and tools you could use to get more effective results.
The third step is to facilitate the creative session using the software. This means leading the team through the different stages of the creative process, such as defining the problem, generating ideas, selecting and refining solutions, and evaluating the outcomes. Depending on the software you use, you may have different features and functions to support each stage, such as timers, polls, voting, annotations, comments, and feedback.
As a facilitator, your role is to guide the team, encourage participation, stimulate creativity, and manage the flow and pace of the session. You may need to use different techniques and methods to achieve these goals, such as asking open-ended questions, providing positive reinforcement, challenging assumptions, using metaphors and analogies, and introducing constraints and criteria. You may also need to adapt your style and approach depending on the software and the situation, such as switching between synchronous and asynchronous modes, using audio and visual cues, and balancing structure and flexibility.

Set clear goals and objectives, encourage participation and manage conflict constructively. Focus on finding common ground and building upon each other's ideas.

Moderation the way I like it: offers clarity, creates structure and space, is inviting 🎁. ✨ Choose a suitable setting, effective methods and interventions. Respond appropriately to the demands of the moment. Remain neutral and resolve conflicts constructively and promptly. ✨ Do not make appointments without an agenda and a clear goal (outcome✌️). Clarify in advance: When would the appointment be a good, target-orientated appointment? ✨ Raise an awareness of the opportunity costs, e.g. if ten people meet for an hour. If you can't be effective in a meeting, please don't come or leave the meeting. A NO is also okay. 🚀 One tool that I like to use and would like to pass on is the #𝗣𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮.
The final step is to follow up and follow through after the creative session. This means summarizing the main points, outcomes, and actions from the session, and sharing them with the team and other stakeholders. You may need to use the software to capture, document, and export the results of the session, such as the ideas, sketches, prototypes, and feedback. You may also need to use the software to communicate, coordinate, and collaborate with the team and other stakeholders on the next steps, such as testing, implementing, and evaluating the solutions.
You also need to follow through by celebrating the achievements, acknowledging the contributions, and recognizing the efforts of the team and the individuals. You may need to use the software to express your appreciation, gratitude, and recognition, such as sending messages, badges, or rewards. You may also need to use the software to solicit and provide feedback, learn from the experience, and identify areas for improvement.
Using collaboration software can be a powerful way to boost your team's creativity, as long as you choose the right software, prepare the software and the team, facilitate the creative session, and follow up and follow through. By doing so, you can leverage the potential of technology to enhance the human aspects of creativity, such as communication, collaboration, and co-creation.

That's one small step for you, one giant leap for... ...and then everyday working life gets in the way. How can we follow up on our decisions and bring them to life in the long term? During the workshop, the most important findings of the day are recorded on a diamond chart. The key messages are then passed on to the team. Ensure connectable communication. Dare to change perspective: What does this mean in concrete terms for me, my team, the organization? Celebrate successes: Recognize what has already been achieved. Cheerleading your team! Reflection and iteration: What is helpful, what is a hindrance, what is missing and should be added. Get out of the passive partnership, stay consistent: What is the next small step you can take?
-
Document the key takeaways, decisions, and action items from the creative session. Share this documentation with the team and stakeholders. Assign tasks and deadlines... Gather feedback and iterate... Celebrate successes!
-
Utilize technology effectively...! Use technology as a tool to enhance and support creativity, not to replace it. Maintain a balance between human interaction and digital collaboration :)
