In my experience its important to first understand why am I there in the virtual space. If its a space where I plan to stay as a bystander to a lot of bullying then I need to decide what role do I want to play. If I can stay connected in some meaningful way without expecting that threat to my opinions and beliefs will not take place then I need to revisit my understanding of how the world we live in is evolving. I can chose to speak up or be a silent bystander. The choice is mine.

We have our reasons and motivations to express our interests and opinions about issues that important to us and others might like them as well on line. I imagine that when we get too excited without considering others viewpoints then dispute would occur. Diversity is not necessary the conflict in kind but it could be in degree. I suppose when we read something is not our cup of tea, there are other beverages we can fancy with.
