It also need to be creatin design, diverse in projects selection. You need to show if you're only good in residential designs, or you have experience in different aspects for example commercial & hospitality.

I believe it's important to portfolio different styles to illustrate the true designer's ability - that the job and ability is to satisfy the clients requirement even it is far removed from a style we personally prefer. If I could give one suggestion when making a portfolio is focus on the fundamental principles of your design. I ran into a lot of portfolios that relied heavily on technology (rendering, vr etc..) I feel that it is less timeless. In two years this technology will most likely be out and then your portfolio will seem very old. As for technical drawings, it is nice to see but I do also believe you can learn how to make good constructions sets relatively quickly. I think what I always try to focus on and look for in portfolio is a narrative, an illustration of your design process, your interests. I like to see concept based portfolios - things that define you as a person because it will directly affect your design even when style changes.
