Here's how you can infuse multimedia into your presentations creatively.

Start by selecting relevant images, videos, or audio clips that complement your message and support your key points. Integrate these multimedia elements strategically throughout your presentation to break up text-heavy slides and maintain audience interest. Use animations, transitions, and effects to add visual appeal and emphasize important information. Consider interactive elements such as polls, quizzes, or live demonstrations to actively involve your audience and encourage participation. Ensure that all multimedia elements are of high quality, properly formatted, and seamlessly integrated into your presentation for a polished and professional look.

The photos, diagram which are relevant and self explanatory in nature are a great way to easily explain difficult concepts in a simple way and provoke engagement from audience.

I always strongly advise presenters to avoid linking to any online content (be that videos or external systems for demonstration purposes). Online content is always at the mercy of a good internet signal, and/or third party systems that might (or might not) be working on the day. It follows that screenshots or locally downloaded video/audio content presets a far lower risk for the presenter.

Short audio clips of quotes, jingles, music can be used if they are relevant and are able to provoke the engagement can be a good thing.

The polls can be taken after the presentation ends so that the audience opinion can be obtained and this feedback can be valuable for taking further strategic decisions.

Complex tables can confuse the audience and may make the presentation ambiguous. If relevant charts, graphs are used then the complex data can be easily explained which can be self explanatory in nature.

Attend any business event (in person or virtual) and you are virtually guaranteed that the presenter will have at least one graph that is deeply confusing or includes data points far too small to be read. Either will disengage or even irritate the audience. It follows that you should only use meaningful graphs that can be understood and read by all. And if the graph is genuinely necessary to the presentation (often they aren’t) yet difficult to read, either reformat it or annotate so that the audience understand the importance of this visual aid.
