Knowing how to foster and encourage each team member to utilize all that they have in their own toolboxes to contribute to the overall objectives of the organization is in itself a gift. (edited)I always go back to something my grandmother told me many years ago. “You never know you’ll need someone, until you’re up the creek and they have the paddle.” Even the relationships that can be hardest to build, and/or maintain are valuable to me. Professionally and personally, I’ve been shown time and time again that networking makes all of the difference when you’re in a bind. All of the prior attributes are absolutely vital to be a successful leader, and successful relationship building tools. Keeping a broad view of the world, and how small your role in it is, makes the value of a wide web that much more apparent.
