Resilience is sailing on the waves of adversity and even come out stronger. As a coach I try to prepare the client as in the sea to practice with small waves and with several ‘surfboards’. The client gets more confidence in his/her/their abilities. There always will be adversity and we have to accept that. What we do is dealing with the consequences. Let the client analyse what could go wrong in the future and what might be the impact. Then create scenarios how to act when the adversity occurs. After that you help the client chunk the scenario in clear and small steps, so the client won’t get overwhelmed and will be able to act upon it.
