As a PM myself, working with both waterfall and agile, I couldn't think of another role (except product managers) where you are more exposed to processes, change, and innovation on a rolling base. I honestly don't think there's any training needed ;) it's already in the DNA of a PM.

Encouraging your team to collaborate is one of the best approaches, when working on a project the goal is the main thing to achieve, collaboration is one of the the pillars in a project since everyone will know what steps to take next.

Uncertainty. Innovation is all about uncertainty and technological innovation is no different. You and your team must be able to (i) identify what the real uncertainties associated with the problem/desired innovation are; and (ii) find a way to address these within the constraints of the problem and your organisation. To do this innovation teams (as opposed to development teams) are more effective with very diverse perspectives which might include different functional expertise, industry experience and even life experiences.
