Assessing the tools is where I would start. I will ask my team members if they all know how to use a certain tool and if they are comfortable with it. If someone needs training/a walkthrough on the tool I’ll create a Loom video that will guide them on how to use it. We will then have to choose a tool that’s effective and meets our needs as a team.

Tools for virtual collaboration should offer data on the collaboration, they should be intuitive as hell ! for both someone who is overseeing its efficiency for you and for your team. Regular feedback sessions of the tool are a MUST.. What's working well and what needs improvement. Have that same person scout new tools ( there's a bunch of AI stuff.. DM me for a list ) What's your GO to Apps> ?

Sometimes an open dialogue is too open or uncomfortable, so sharing 3-4 personas with the team can jump-start the conversation. Are you... * Lily Luddite (prefers analog methods) * Catch Me if You Can Cathy (is not online on a regular basis) * Theresa the Thinker (needs time to process information) * Solo Steve (prefer working independently) If you prompt ChatGPT with your dilemma and ask for 3-5 personas that you can use as talking points, your team will dive into an open conversation much faster!

If you are the host/emcee then remember, 1. Energy is contagious. You got to be active first. 2. Well lit surrounding is very important 3. Keep a Smile 4. Do not judge or force someone if their video is off or their background is not cool 5. Talk less and Listen more The above reason will make the participants feel comfortable, conveys that you are well prepared and interested to be in the meet. To make participants talk or be a part of the discussion actively, 1. Breakdown the topic as simple as possible 2. You start first 3. Give everyone an opportunity to share their opinion be it in the form or stories or their experience 4. Together set meeting norms before the start 5. Play simple yet fun activities 6. Delegate tasks to people

Intention is Everything. We are all human ( check my bio ) so create opportunities for informal interactions, mirroring the water cooler chats of an office setting. Ask about the person's life, have a genuine interest in other people We all want to belong. This SHOULD be your culture from the get to.. Be a leader and communicate.... If you want your organisation to be supported by the people who work with / for you .....

HAVE SOPS in place. Set expectations ( for youself and for the team ) .. ask what they need from you and give them some homework *never stop learning folks.. lol. You must have some guidelines in place, think: (response times, preferred communication channels, targets, dedicated rooms, education.... time zone differences. OMG the delays sometimes...) Above anything listen and also add value yourself... You must receive feedback and make sure you create an environment of shared interests for yourself, your team and the partners whom enable you to make money. Otherwise. IMO, you are shit at communicating. And it's all communication ( verbal, BL, written, the dirt on your floor, .. ) Tell me I am wrong.
