I've found that a common mistake is to delegate functions and responsibility. Even though, you may certainly delegate some of your functions or all of them to the right persons you will remain accountable for all of them at all times. Even if you are away in a remote island during your honeymoon, you will still be accountable. My best advice, delegate appropriately and monitor your personnel periodically.
