This one is often overlooked. It's highly important to realize when you are in too deep or something is beyond your current capabilities. It's also okay to have those limits. We can only do so much on our own. Besides, knowing that there is something beyond us should drive us to learn more and push those limits a little further. The most important thing though is to not overwhelm yourself.

Adapting is a process which takes time, the time is subjective to the person involved, if the scenario is contrast to what the person needing to adapt and what was exposed to before, then it takes time. To adapt, one has to first understand the circumstances and situation under which the person is placed, then he/she has to introspect which aspects of the newly exposed situation is very difficult for him/her to adapt to, then delve deeper into why that aspect is difficult, and continue to break down the parts into simpler ones until the solution on what and how it needs to be changed is found, so that the person acquires the trait, "adaptibilty". This is a simple process which can be adopted, it is quite handy in every adapting process.
