Building trust with the leadership group is one of the highest priorities! Share vulnerabilities and war stories, family dynamics and family activities, as well as other personal information to emphasize that we are all more than employees and we are people with personal lives first. One of the personal messages I to share is the following quote, “the needs of the many do not always outweigh the needs of the few or the one”. The individual team members need to know that you have their back even if a mistake is made. Emphasize that honest and frequent open communication is the mission!
