They may be scared to inform a prospective customer about an issue because they don’t want to bring bad news or to be disliked. The reality is that problems do not go away. They are more likely to escalate or even kill the deal. Facing problems head on can be tough work but it is the best way to handle them. A good customer will respect a sales person who doesn’t hide the truth. And, over time, you come to enjoy dealing with problems and finding creative solutions.
