From Idea to current progress, using a roadmap is helpful to stay on track. In the case of vulnerability management, I will track the original number of vulnerabilities identified, time it takes to resolve them, FTEs, and hours worked. If its projected to be a 3 month project, I'll track every two weeks. Making sure to show the "over time" view. This can be used to show where productivity on the project drops.
