So often, once we have a community where we are enmeshed in team leadership opportunities, we stick with that community for its familiarity and comfort. The leadership skill sets that one community needs may not be the same as another. To further advance, I would suggest continuing education through experiential application - find a new community that will put you outside your comfort zone. Every time you enter into another community and start the ladder climb of discovering team leadership opportunities, inherently you will need to discover different approaches and skills. Continuing education doesn't always need a certificate to be meaningful.
