I have always enjoyed the thrill of presenting but I realize being visible while using one’s voice is anxiety provoking for many. Which hinders confidence. First, the feelings of nervousness and excitement often share characteristics. It may help to change the word associated to the feeling. “I am excited to share what I have prepared”. Second, remembering that everyone in the room has had these same feelings and are more likely there to support you. Third, confidence improves with practice. Keep at it! That fear of looking silly will fade. As the fear subsides confidence grows.

Sure, a potential new job or a new client is very important, and if your presentation goes poorly and you don't get the job or client, that's frustrating. But the next day will come, and you'll get over it. So, realize your life doesn't depend on it. Put things into perspective.
