I would like to bring an analogy here around planning your career. I started getting in love of running back in 2016. And my journey started by enrolling myself in the 10-week couch to 5K training plan at my company. I didn't have prior experience in running, so this program created the foundation on me. And I would like to share some lessons learned you could apply to career planning: 1) Sign in for a race: that keeps the goal present. What is the project, the experience the program you would like to get expose. Raise your hand and be proactive. 2) Partner with a peer or community where you get support. This is key to maintain accountability. 3) Share and celebrate your accomplishments along the journey. Increase visibility and traction.

Most people set one or two really big goals and lose momentum. Instead break the big goal down into 5 or more smaller goals.

To avoid getting burned out, schedule your job search activities every day in your mobile device. For example, two hours in the morning and two hours in the afternoon. Schedule time to exercise. Schedule time to walk and look for beauty in ordinary places. Get out of your own head. Schedule time for sleeping. "Motivation" and "inspiration" are not going to help you be successful in a job search. Scheduling and habit formation is the name of the game.

I always recommend people understand their "why" and call upon it consistently. If you do not understand your "why", or if your "why" isn't well defined, it will be hard to push through times where you feel unmotivated. Our "why's", however, can be just the motivation we need.

One thing I've found helpful is celebrating your achievements: reward yourself and determine how well the reward is commensurate with the size of the 'Success Station' during the implementation of your goals. This will motivate you! ✨️

Find out what you’re not good at and don’t do it. That is the key to every successful career journey because if you’re not good at it, you’ll never have passion for it. Focus on the areas that you are amazing.

Define your path, give it your all,trust the process ,avoid comparison, grow capacity/skill,seek help and guidance, rest when necessary but don't give up.

Career planning is often a moving target depending on different factors in one’s life. So remaining motivated is a challenge. Being able to see effort translate into taking steps towards one’s own definition of success around career planning is key. Celebrate all the small wins and realize one’s own timeline and process can’t be compared to others.
