Anything that comes to mind related to your role. People aren't mind-readers—if you are struggling or need any sort of guidance, it's up to you to speak up.

Data Analytics, Analysis etc, is your best friend. Follow it for clues, direction and pulses. It can also measure, compare, show you your competition and challenge you to build where your low, in areas that you want to grow in. It also helps to expose unnecessary areas, activities, and directions that you cut out, for a more focused work direction and flow.

Try to get all the datas that are available. From my experience some of the datas can be misleading, but that is only if you are depending on certain set of them. Try to connect a wide array of datas then you will understand what is working and what is not, try to adapt to that. And also the primary point of seeking help should never be out of realm since an intern is there to learn.

Challenges or issues often already have the answers given right smack at you. Its only the question of implementation. And before doing anything rash, analyzing the data is key to effectively pin point what really is the root cause and what are the high to no risk options. It'll only go down to the question of which of the option fits the current situation. If you can't decide, that's the time you seek guidance to a senior. Wouldn't hurt to ask and be guided. Its nothing to be ashamed of. Its actually admirable to admit that you are finding things difficult and is looking for someone more experienced for their opinion.

A couple ways I am able to stay updated with my work in social media: - Twitter: Twitter allows me to find tons of news the second it gets out, and what many don’t realize is that tons of the news being posted on platforms such as IG/Facebook and TikTok are initially posted on Twitter - Reddit: For less time sensitive stuff, reddit is an amazing place to find awesome evergreen content that can be brought to other platforms. If you find the right subreddit for your specific niche or industry, you will be ahead of the curve.

Try a different platform. Often, brands do really well with a more corporate personality on LinkedIn or a more fun personality on TikTok. If you are struggling with one platform, try another, and reach out to creators/influencers to ask them for 15 minutes of advice instead of asking other "social media managers" at corporate. It's also a great way to stand out and build high-quality brand partnerships.

I like having a personal brand or social media profile (food content creator) because it gives me the freedom to experiment and there are no risks. Then if it works in your own profile and it can be applied to your industry, you can pitch the idea to the company you're working for!

Time management is super important, especially when you have a lot of tasks on your plate! I recommend you first of all to find out how urgent each task is and to know the due date. You could be working on a task that is not very urgent and you could be leaving urgent tasks aside!

If the post isn’t good, don’t waste your whole day, time, energy, resources or money trying to make it good. Sometimes you have to know when to let go and focus your energy on better content. This is something that I even struggle with sometimes where I’ll sit and think an idea for a post is really good, spend a lot of time on it and it never even gets posted — and when it does, it flops. Learn to understand what posts do well and how to keep your audience on their toes, from there budget your time on making the best posts you possibly can.

Making a to-do list at the start of every day helps a lot. It gives you an idea of all the things you have to go through and you can allot time for the same accordingly. Always aim to finish 70% of your to-do list tasks and always start them priority wise.

Time management is crucial. We all have the same 24 hours, 8 hours sleep approx, that leaves us with 16 hours roughly. Yes this will vary a little bit from person to person, but you get the idea. Some people who have 16 hours, might say there is never enough time in the day, or I don't know where the time has gone. Where others are very productive and feel good about their time. Our attitude and how we use that time is what counts. It is easy to get distracted, so learn to focus. Focusing is done best in short burts. Set a task and focus intently for that given time i.e 2 hours. Don't deviate. If you know you only have a short time, you will work harder and focus more. Have a break, then go 2 hours again etc. Allocate some down time too.

There’s been so many instances where I have started iconic series’s and made some of my biggest posts ever by going against the grain and doing what I want to do, rather than just what everyone else does. Creativity is all around us… quite literally. If you do this, and keep the doors to your mind open, it won’t be long before you actually start finding those creative motors running. 🤓

Be creative and try something new of course - but remember to be relevant for your industry. Just because something is trending, doesn't mean it will work or be relevant for your business. Remember to ask yourself - is this going to add value to my audience? If you can find an angle on a trend that will work for your company, go for it! But don't waste your time (and your audience's) following trends that have no value or relevance to them.

Lastly, take time to reflect on your experiences and learn from both successes and failures. It’s important to understand the role of social media in your organisation. If it’s the main sales driver then your approach needs to be very responsive and data driven - But if it’s more of a branding and self promotion tool then the responsiveness always needs to be tempered by what the core brand is and represents. What I’m saying is when in doubt always go back to your brand’s/organisation’s core values. And don’t rush into anything. The world rushes us to action but sometimes doing nothing and watching how things develop is the best strategy.

Adaptation of Mindset and Workflow: working in the not-for-profit sector often involves navigating through layers of approvals. As interns gain a deeper understanding of their organization's mission and brand, they should aim to deliver polished, well-thought-out content to their supervisors to showcase their understanding of the broader social strategy.

Firstly, understand that challenges are the best way to grow and think creatively. If you don't get challenged, you'll get complacent really quickly. So enjoy the fact that you're being challenged as it's pulling you out of your comfort zone, where you will learn. Secondly, recognize that everyone has challenges and it's completely normal to come across challenges. This helps prevent you from thinking it's a "you" problem, which could convert into self-doubts and cloud up your judgement and decision-making skills. Thirdly, don't be afraid of asking for help even if just to say "can you be my soundboard?". Most people don't mind if you ask for help. Think out loud and ask people what they think. Finally, do it like Dory & keep swimming!

The first is to communicate with my Supervisor and be open-minded. Your supervisor might have the right approach to the challenges you are facing. Another thing I will do is to reach out to my Mentor; you cannot overcome challenges if you don't speak up. Speaking up is the first step to overcoming any difficulties in life. As an Intern, it is okay not to have everything figured out; remember to take it one step at a time. Another way is to take breaks from work and focus on yourself. Do some hobbies and spend time with your family. - Also, get approval from your supervisor before embarking on a break.

I would suggest finding a strong newsroom leader and asking them to mentor you in your journey. They have the day to day skill set to help you grow and they are in the roles for a reason, utilize them for your own growth and to learn to be a strong asset to the team.

Negative comments or hate comments also count as interactions! When I first started working with SM accounts, I would take all the hateful comments to heart. They felt like personal attacks. They are not and you should not get discouraged by them. If needed and allowed, just hide them. And consider that these negative interactions also count towards your engagement. If you build a strong community and follower base, they will even come to your defense! It is very rewarding. So be aware that making community with your audience is one of the best ways to go.

Here are a few tips that might help you in any challenge you face: - Never doubt your ideas especially the creative ones, however insane it may sound, pitch that in! A good senior will guide you on how to execute it properly. - Whenever things are not working out as you hoped it would, take a few deep breaths, go back to the basics and double check your analysis, findings, research, etc. - Always plan ahead so that you can accommodate ad-hoc requests like filming a trending reel, changing creatives, etc. Keep slots open in your calendar for such "emergency" situations. You've got this!

It is incredibly nerve wracking to not mess anything up as you start getting hands on experience in your career. The most important thing you can do is understand the challenge, come up with a solution(s) and provide those solution(s) when going to your supervisor/person you report to. Either route you take showing you care and trying to solve the challenge by flagging it the first time, is way better than letting time pass or figuring it out yourself.
