An easy example that I have seen is in large scale power plants where multiple systems are controlled by a computer. Normally they are controlled either on PC using complex commands, controls or physically at the site. AR can make this very easy by presenting a virtual twin of the entire power plant that can be shown in 3D and the user will be able to navigate the space digitally and press the controls of the machine and this will in turn be converted into the necessary commands/control and be sent to the actual machine. This can help reduce the staff needed to maintain the plant physically and also make it very easy to train new staff.
AR data visualization can be incredibly beneficial for both the user and the system. By reducing cognitive load and enhancing data processing, it can improve memory, attention, and problem-solving. Additionally, it can increase emotional responses such as curiosity, enjoyment, and trust by stimulating the user's senses and creating a sense of presence. Furthermore, it can enable collaboration and communication by supporting social interaction and co-presence with other users and data sources. Lastly, it can optimize system performance such as speed, accuracy, and reliability by leveraging user context and feedback to adjust data presentation and interaction.
