How can you position yourself as a trusted advisor by sharing valuable content and insights?
Social selling is the art of using social media to build relationships, establish trust, and generate sales opportunities with your prospects and customers. One of the key aspects of social selling is positioning yourself as a trusted advisor by sharing valuable content and insights that educate, inform, and inspire your audience. But how can you do that effectively and consistently? Here are some tips to help you become a trusted advisor by sharing content and insights on social media.
Before you share any content or insights, you need to know who you are talking to and what they care about. Research your target market, their pain points, their goals, their challenges, and their preferences. Use tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Twitter Lists, or Facebook Groups to find and follow your prospects and customers. Listen to their conversations, questions, feedback, and opinions. Identify their common themes, interests, and needs. This will help you tailor your content and insights to their specific situations and problems.

CRUCIAL for successful Selling: Knowing your audience is what makes or breaks it. Think about the number of content and messages you see and hear every day. How many of those emails/social media posts you saw yesterday do you still remember? The reason is because they failed to personalize it to YOUR needs. If a social media post talks about the specific struggles you go through, or your desires, you will pay attention. The only way you can grab the attention of your ideal clients is by talking about their biggest pain points (or desires) and showing them that you have a solution to help them. You got this! Else I got you, reach out

This is great advice! I completely agree with you that researching your target market and understanding their pain points is crucial for creating effective content and insights. However, I would also like to suggest that AI can be a valuable tool in this process. With the ability to collect and analyze data on sentiments, interests, and needs, AI can help provide a comprehensive summary of your target market's preferences and concerns. This can save you time and help ensure that your content and insights are tailored to their needs.

Knowing your target audience must go further. You also need to be connected to the right people to reach them effectively (for example here on LinkedIn).
You don't have to create all the content you share from scratch. You can leverage existing content from reputable sources that align with your audience's needs and interests. Curate content that is relevant, timely, credible, and useful for your audience. Use tools like Feedly, Pocket, or Flipboard to discover and organize content from various sources. You can also use social media platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter, or Facebook to find and follow influencers, thought leaders, or industry publications that share valuable content. Make sure you add your own perspective, comment, or question when you share curated content to show your personality and expertise.

Most ppl get overwhelmed, as they make content creation more complicated than it needs to be: You can absolutely leverage existing content from others as long as you credit the source! (Please be ethical) Important thing is this: Step #1 To grab the attention of your ideal clients, you need to be talking about their biggest pain points. Step #2 Start with a hook that enters the conversation that's already happening in their mind. Ask your audience if t the experience that struggle right now Step #3 Show them that you have a solution to help them. You got this! Else I got you, reach out

I trust that it's not even about the content you share. Rather, it's about the added value you create by sharing the content. For example, even a re-post can be a good post IF you tell me WHY you reshared it. If it's empty, it's useless. The same goes for your own content - it's only interesting if you put your "own flavor" on it and don't just keep it generic.
While curated content can help you save time and provide value, original content can help you showcase your unique voice, insights, and solutions. Create content that demonstrates your knowledge, skills, and experience in your field. You can use different formats like blog posts, videos, podcasts, webinars, ebooks, or case studies to share your content. Use tools like WordPress, Medium, YouTube, Anchor, Zoom, or Canva to create and distribute your content. Focus on providing value, not selling. Address your audience's pain points, challenges, goals, and opportunities. Provide actionable tips, best practices, examples, or stories that can help them solve their problems or achieve their desired outcomes.

NINJA TIP: Videos work the best, as they can see and hear the real you, which accelerates the know like trust factor. Also remember: You do NOT need to create a lot of content. Creating 2-3 videos a week is enough for you to build a loyal Following and generate a solid income AS LONG AS you do the OTHER THINGS that are way MORE IMPORTANT than creating content! 💥If you don't know what they are, reach out During Content Creation: Step #1 To grab the attention of your ideal clients, talk about their biggest pain points. Step #2 Start with a hook that enters the conversation that's already happening in their mind. Step #3 Show them that you have a solution to help them. You got this! Else I got you, reach out

And keep it interesting! I love it when people play around with different forms of posts - such as text form, video, poll, article, repost, ... - to add variety. If it's always the same story in the same format, you don't catch anyone's attention. Bonus: HAVE FUN!
Sharing content and insights is not enough. You also need to engage with your audience to build rapport, trust, and credibility. Respond to their comments, questions, feedback, or reactions. Thank them for their input, acknowledge their views, answer their queries, or ask for their opinions. Join relevant groups, forums, or communities where your audience hangs out and participate in the discussions. Share your insights, opinions, or experiences on topics that matter to them. Start conversations, ask questions, or offer help. Be authentic, respectful, and helpful.

Engaging with our audience is crucial for successful social selling. By actively participating in conversations, responding to comments, and providing valuable content, we can build trust and credibility with our audience. Engaging with our audience is a great opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of their needs and preferences, enabling us to tailor our products and services to better meet their requirements. By consistently engaging with our audience, we can cultivate a loyal community of customers who are more likely to recommend our brand to others.
The ultimate goal of sharing content and insights is to move your audience from awareness to interest to action. You want to generate leads, nurture relationships, and create sales opportunities. To do that, you need to follow up and follow through with your audience. Monitor their engagement, behavior, and actions. Use tools like HubSpot, Mailchimp, or Hootsuite to track and measure your content and insights performance. Identify the most engaged, interested, and qualified prospects and reach out to them with personalized messages. Offer value, not pitches. Provide more content, insights, or resources that can help them move further along the buyer's journey. Follow through on your promises, commitments, or offers. Show them that you are a reliable, consistent, and trustworthy advisor.

Never stop trying. What works today may not work tomorrow. We can't rely on our experience, we have to keep an open mind. Social media, for example, clearly shows how quickly the algorithm changes.
