My 11th grade daughter just completed a semester of an entrepreneurship course (she thought living w me would get her an easy A lol). It was far from comprehensive and she felt she ended up leading the class a lot. I'm more in favor of learning by doing vs a formal entrepreneurship class. Make an incubator where we help outline and focus idea and then questions can be answered as things develop. Connect them to free tools to help with market research and bring in local entrepreneurs to speak about their journey. And by that I mean all types of entrepreneurs. Too often we only see the biggest brands/names/$$. The family that owns a local pizza joint can give a lot of down and dirty operations advice that a SAAS founder can't.

The entrepreneurial and employment Mindset both have their space & value in the business ecosystem & both needs to be fostered together with right balance for maximise growth & optimising efficiency. While entrepreneurial mindset focuses on future growth, innovation, building IPs, New Business development but at the same time it takes risks, build certain inefficiencies & also involve failures in the process. The employment mindset focuses on discipline, process orientation, proper execution, following the rules of the game & harnessing current assets & revenue models. Very often we get stuck with the glamourized idea of 'Entrepreneurship - evaluation, scaling, exit. But not every entrepreneur needs to follow this route. Long before VCs, Investors, Angel Investors, PEs, etc became the buzzword, India had a strong workforce that centered around entrepreneurship. Find a need, analyze the potential, figure out the quality of the solution you can offer, price it and promote it. Once you find your first customer put your head down and create a community of customers that patronise and support you. Build from there. The need can be simple but crucial. Become profitable and build a team that you need. Investment, funding, VCs can come later.

Unemployed young people should know that they don't need an MBA or decades of experience to start an income generating venture. Follow these steps: 1) Find a problem that people have that are willing to pay for it to be solved 2) Find out how you are able to solve it for people in a better way 3) Promote this idea with family, friends and your friend's friends by putting a price on your solution Remember that entrepreneurship is a vehicle that brings value to oneself by adding value to the world.
