Sustainability is no longer a niche; it's a necessity. To master green building skills, start by understanding sustainable materials and energy-efficient construction practices. Regardless of what construction trade or industry you're in there is likely a service side to it. With over 20 years experience in my trade I can say that the most important skill one can learn that will set them above most others would be the service side. Once you've spent some time in service you gain much foresight into what should and shouldn't be done during construction. Then when back on any construction or installation project you will do things that increase serviceability, longevity and quality, as well as overall customer satisfaction. Alot of this experience is transferable between trades or industries as well. You'll find issues that could've been prevented had another trade done something differently.
