In August 2014, JSDA,TSE (Tokyo Stock Exchange) and JSCC (Japan Securities Clearing Corporation) set up the "Study Group on the Shortening of the Stock Trading Settlement cycle (T+2)" as its secretariat.

The Study Group went through anticipated effects of the shortening of the settlement cycles for stocks etc., and challenges to shorten the settlement cycle. On March 17,2015, the study group published a report that summarizes the outcome of its discussions.
