Yes, it was a very slow burn. Yes, there were times I thought "who cares?" But all I can say is I'm glad I stuck through it to the end.
I recognize that I'm not the likely target market for this film (being a middle age man) but a strong ending is a strong ending. Cudo's to the writers. I thoroughly enjoyed this film. And if you watch until the end, I'm sure you will too.

Where I Love You, Man celebrates bonding and warm-hearted bromance, Friendship deconstructs it, revealing the ugly side of neediness and emotional instability.
If you expect a feel-good, relatable, endearing buddy film, you're going to be disappointed. Its mission is to unsettle, not to comfort.
I didn't appreciate feeling complete cringe for the entire movie. I wondered, what am I missing? How is this film getting any positive reviews? Is the entire film meant to be some kind of inside joke antithesis to Paul Rudd's "I love you, man"? Did that wink at end have a double meaning? Was the rage about movie spoilers a real time warning to those who dare review this disaster?
I don't have the answers, all I know is I wasn't in the "inside" of this joke and it was painful to watch. I hated this film and the characters. It was painful to watch.
