It's been far to long since i've seen an anime that hooked me on the first episode.
The first episode starting off with a 45 min gripper that hooked my hearth.
The animation is a breath of fresh air. It throws you into a world where what you want to happen or think will happen is a mere wish.
The story wants to take you on a ride and pushing the boundaries is not a fear it has!
For those that are tired of anime not going all they way with the story, this might solve it.

It's pretty hard for me to get into shows now a days because a lot of writing and plots are pretty meh. After watching the trailer I didn't think much of it, just thought it'd be a cool violent fantasy anime but I've been pretty stoked every time a new episode comes out. The action is pretty good, some fights could use a little more fleshing out, the plot is actually pretty interesting, characters are actually kinda unique and not just one dimensional. Even the villains aren't just evil to be evil, most of them feel like they have some kind of will driving what they do.
What I'm mostly enjoying is how good and bad isn't just black and white. There's a gray zone with our protagonists and antagonists.
Was initially shocked at the 8/10 rating when I looked up this show but the more I think about it, I think it is one of the better shows that'vd come out this year.

It's been quite some time since I've enjoyed a dark fantasy anime. It's rare to find a dark fantasy writer who respects the intellect of those who love the genre, and Yuji Iwahara is certainly one of them. The writing style reminds me a bit of Togashi's writing style, the author of Hunter x Hunter. He builds each character as if they were the main character of the story, giving them everything he has and enriching them little by little, as if he is saying, "You are all my children, I love you all equally, no matter how good or evil you are." . After watching three episodes, I think this anime has a strong chance of becoming a masterpiece in the future. I had a lot of fun and I'm very excited to see what happens next.

For me, this is a welcomed escape from the mundane d2d and netflix/prime/blah blah (as a decent fantasy should be). The story is pretty good. Choices made, consequences, emotions, sword fighting and magic. So yeah, I've enjoyed it. If I could binge the whole season, I'd have already done so. Guess I'll just have to look forward to the next episode.

This series really deviates from the current norm of a lot of anime series. It really doesn't follow any set guidelines that a lot of its other predecessors follow. I literally have no clue what will happen next, or where the series is going. And I am typically, yet annoyingly, accurate in my predictions at how stories will end. This one is kind of a hit.

Premier episode which is basically 2 2 in 1. Gore. Mass gore and death. Some echii fan service parts minor though.
Episodes 2 while being shorter actually packs in way more content I think. But after episode 1 gore and death aren't enough for me to keep it away from my kids. Episode 2 made this not family appropriate unless you want tough conversations with your pre teens. Heavily implied repeated rape and violence against women and children. Miscarriage and infant death. Not remotely offensive to me but to give parents reading this full choice. No nipples but Breast-feeding is a common occurrence and likely going forward. Also death. Also death and gore were also present. I'm enjoying it so far. The world and the future plot seems like it could be really good.

So far, seven episodes in, the series is just ok. The world and the characters are intriguing, and the story developments are decent.
However, it feels like nothing of importance is happening. There's not much for me to look forward for. I feel like the characters are just aimlessly wandering around.
To me, this is just another run-of-the-mill anime for teens.

The premise is good enough, but the story is poorly written. The dialog is atrocious, childish at times, which is weird considering the random fan service (not that it's very prevalent). I could honestly nitpick pretty hard on the writing but the half assed animation needs to be addressed. Some of it looks straight out of a 80s action cartoon. Its so out of place that its jarring when it happens. Then there's the voice acting. Clevatess is the only one to do a decent job. Everyone else phoned it in and put on their worst voice imaginable. I wish I could have the life back that this show took from me.

Apparently the episodes have a grainy filter to immitate old anime. Which means you want to imitate over-pixelization of your animation.
I have Visual Snow Syndrome, so everything is already grainy. This is unwatchable. ALL the clips online when not from the anime site itself are high definition, but apparently the actual sites that hold the anime really like the grainy filter the creators used.
Not watchable for those who certain neurological disorders, and my eyes are actively on fire while feeling grainy enough I want to scratch at them (like something is stuck to my eye)
It gets better, apparently, but I am not skipping the first three episodes to check the fourth. If the second episode looks like its from 10 years or more ago and makes me want to hit my head on a wall-guess i won't finish it.
You can show flashbacks and the past much easier with HIGH DEF not "oh look some pixels tehe look how cool this is"
