Even if you haven't watched all the seasons or even of you have just watched the last two movies or even only one of the movies, itdoes not matter. Even if you haven't watched any of the movies, it does not matter. Julian Fellowes and his production team have created the perfect ending of the perfect series. It was fantastic in every way.
I laughed, I cried,. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and I felt it was an amazing closure for Downton Abbey.

Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale (2025) is the third and final movie set in the Downton Abbey Franchise that began in 2010 with the television series. This movie is the reason why I binged through the show and the two movies to begin with and I'm happy about it because this movie was phenomenal.
Positives for Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale (2025): Similar to the previous movies and tv show, this entry gets everything right with the technical aspect from the writing, acting, directing, cinematography, costumes, set design, music, sound mixing, editing, lighting and execution is done to perfection here. The cast does an excellent job as always including Hugh Bonneville, Jim Carter, Michelle Dockery, Paul Giamatti, Elizabeth McGovern, Penelope Wilton, Dominic West, Joely Richardson, Alessandro Nivola, Simon Russell Beale and Arty Froushan. The story of this movie with the scandal in the family is really interesting and it gives the characters a lot to do here, while also getting ready to leave the estate all together. The dialogue and banter is just as good as it has always been in this franchise and it is kinda sad given that this is the last time I'll be seeing these character talk to each other. It was nice to see these great characters for one last adventure with each other as they are doing their usual schtick, while also keeping themselves in check before they leave. And finally, the final 10 minutes is the perfect ending to this franchise as we see everyone saying their goodbyes and remembering all of the good time they've had at the estate,
Overall, Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale (2025) is the perfect concluding chapter to this franchise and I am very happy to now call myself a Downton Abbey fan.

As a long-time fan of the series, I found the Downton Abbey farewell film truly moving. It brought together all of main characters for a final glimpse into their lives through 1930, blending heartfelt moments with just the right touch of humor. The film beautifully pays tribute to the show's legacy and brings out the strengths of each character as they adapt to a new era. It offers a satisfying closure that resonated deeply with me-so much so that I cried at the end as if saying goodbye to beloved friends. I appreciate the care taken to wrap up the story for loyal viewers. Thank you to everyone involved in creating this touching farewell.
What a gift Julian Fellowes has been. Creating a world that so many can relate to and genuinely feel as if they are part of it, though only observers. Having watched from the beginning 14 years ago, waiting patiently for the next episode then movie, it astounds me how emotionally invested I've been. Many viewings have touched me, connected with me. The writing here has delivered an "ending" that completes the story, wraps up the story, ends the story competently and efficiently. But even in its efficient spareness, if you have been a follower or not, it will still deeply affect you. Succumb to it, and hope that other writers learn from it, because this is how films are meant to be written. Thank you Mr Fellowes.
Just came from an advanced showing and thoroughly enjoyed this movie! Loved the way everyone moving on was set in motion. Paul Giamatti never disappoints, and the rest of the cast absorbed and professionally incorporated the extra characters like Dominic West and actors playing Noel Coward and Sambrook. Julian Fellows and Simon Curtis, take yet another bow! I wish I could say I'm ok with the end, but I understand that those actors must move on, too.

- Erros de gravaçãoHarold mentions a Della Francesca that the Crawleys have and Cora says that he shouldn't suggest selling it. However they sold the Della Francesca that they had in the fifth season of the show which was around 1924 so about 6 years before.
