Tougen Anki

Only 2 episodes in and this show has some of the most insipid, asinine and stupid writing I've seen on a bit. Naito Mudano should be erased from existence for being one of the biggest edgelords in anime. The concept is pretty boring too (agency/school for gifted people to fight bad guys! Basically repackaged Soul Eater/Bleach/My Hero Academia/Jujutsu Kaisen...).

I'm trying to hold out hope that it gets interesting and is more violent (touch of Devil Man, anyone?) but this just seems like standard, regurgitated Shonen crap. Would like the show a lot more if it had more grittiness and tension. Currently, it's predictable and I'm about to say "nah, I think I'm going to pass on the rest".

It's a great anime.

The best part about this show is the revenge mindset of the main character also the side characters oni blood is shown powerful

This is the best new battle shonen tv series of an anime to ever come out and this tv series needs to have a high rating of an 10/10 because it's that good and so is the episodes also needs to be a 10/10 rating for all episodes please this new tv series is too good to be slept on and please do not let this be slept on because this tv series is new and it needs the hype just like how it's comic book form has got years ago when the comic book came out back in 2020 so if your reading this please gave every episode a 10/10 and the tv series itself a 10/10 please so thank you for viewing this.

Feels like the writers just stole concepts from other shows and smashed them together. Even the main characters design is just a direct rip from the main character of Blue Exorcist. The whole first episode actually felt like a direct rip of the beginning of Blue Exorcist, with the main character being a sassy outcast who suddenly discovers he is some sort of demon that will be tracked down and killed, sprouts horns, his adopted father dies, and then he's taken to some sort of school to learn to control his powers. But like, a much worse version. The writing and monologue is rough. Not a fan.

I only managed to sit through a fraction of the episode-it was painfully cringe. The writing leans heavily into the trope that sheer volume equals power, as if screaming louder magically unlocks superhuman strength. It's a shallow, overused device that substitutes emotional intensity for actual character development or believable escalation. Felt more like a parody of shonen tropes than a sincere narrative choice.
