I Am Maximus has won the 2024 Grand National.
Corach Rambler started the race as the bookies' favourite, having justified favouritism to claim the prize 12 months ago - but unseated jockey Derek Fox at the first fence in a dramatic start which set the tone for the race.
The Lucinda-Russell-trained 10-year-old was joined at the top of the market by a host of Irish horses, including 2023 Irish Grand National winner I Am Maximus for Willie Mullins, Limerick Lace for Gavin Cromwell and the much-fancied Panda Boy for Martin Brasil.

SkyAs many as six of the 34-strong field were out by the time they reached the second course. Stattler was pulled up while Mahler Mission and Mr Incredible both fell at the chair.
Mac Tottie was pulled up too while Eldorado Allen led the pack, with Glengouley unseating his rider on the fourth last fence. Galia Des Liteaux looked to take advantage towards the last.
But it was Mullins' I Am Maximus who added to his Irish triumph, steaming home under Paul Townend past Minella Indo and Delta Work with a seven-and-a-half lengths margin.

The first race on Grand National Day went the way of Dan Skelton, as it so often has this season when there's a handicap involved. Skelton followed up his victory in Friday's William Hill Handicap Hurdle with a 1-3 in Saturday's race bearing the same name as 9/2 chance Gwennie May Boy led home Lord Snootie for Christian Williams and West Balboa, also trained by Skelton.
Gordon Elliott recorded a 1-2 in the second race of the afternoon, the Mersey Novices' Hurdle. The Irish trainer saddled the favourite, Brighterdaysahead, and he duly followed up on the promise he showed in the the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham to take the Grade 1 prize. Staffordshire Knot came home some seven-and-a-half lengths back to round out a successful few minutes for Elliott.
Tom Lacey then got on the board in the Freebooter Handicap Chase as his horse Cruz Control defied odds of 9/1 to take the £56,270 top prize. He triumphed ahead of 20/1 shot Sam Brown and the Anthony Honeyball-trained Forward Plan at 13/2.
In the final race before the showpiece, 8/1 Strong Leader came out on top in the JRL Group Liverpool Hurdle, beating out Buddy One and Hiddenvalley Lake.
