Furnace won’t shut off

I live in Denver, CO and just got a brand new Lennox gas furnace installed by a licensed contractor, along with a new Nest thermostat (in April, 2024). Twice now, the furnace has randomly turned on and will not shut off.  Nothing will make it stop, not turning the thermostat to Off, and not even pulling the dial unit off the wall. The only way to shut down the furnace from blasting heat is to turn off the breaker. My contractor cannot figure out what is the problem. Can anyone in the U.S. help with this issue?
