The Spectacular Now actor opened up about the fateful encounter during an interview with Vogue in 2019. “Keleigh had caught my eye early in the night, and we talked,” he reflected. “I didn’t think it went well, but after a few more attempts, I got her to dance with me, and a week later, we went on a date. After we met, I knew she was the one.” That May, they started officially dating.

March 16, 2015: A Supportive Girlfriend

At the premiere of his film, The Divergent Series: Insurgent, the actor expressed how juggling his relationship and his career is seamless thanks to his girlfriend’s unwavering support. "It's been pretty easy because right now, her full-time gig is kind of being with me, and before her, I would never invite a girl into that world because I didn't think I could have both," he admitted. "She's allowed me to be able to really focus on acting and do what I want to do. She can come to set and visit me and hang out and doesn't really distract me from it."

August 20, 2017: A Safari Proposal

While the couple was on a safari in South Africa, Teller got down on one knee and asked the ultimate question. According to People, Teller tied a rose to a tree with a note that read, “May 11th, 2013-August 20th, 2017." While proposing, Teller reportedly told Sperry, “This was the first day that I asked you to be my girlfriend, and today was the last day you woke up as my girlfriend,” according to the publication. The moment was touching for Sperry. "I'll never get the image out of my head of him down on one knee with a tear in his eye,” she told the outlet. “He really thought about every detail and was so nervous!"

The model-actress later posted about the romantic occasion on Instagram. “Africa ❤️💍,” her caption said. She uploaded photos of the safari and a close-up shot of her stunning sparkler, a princess-cut diamond ring.

For their first wedding anniversary, the couple commemorated the milestone by enjoying an island getaway. Teller showed off the scenic views on Twitter. “Happy 1 yr anniversary to my all-time love @keleighsperry,” his tweet said. “You and me til the end, baby.”

December 21, 2020: A Thriving Relationship

In a cover story interview for Men’s Health in 2020, Teller said quarantining with Sperry during the pandemic helped deepen their connection. “We just hang out,” he said. “She keeps me calm. It's pretty great. I'm with her now from when I wake up to the moment I go to bed. February 2, 2023: Their Super Bowl Commercial Debut

The couple—along with their beloved pet bulldog—will star in a Bud Light commercial, which will air during Super Bowl LVII on February 12. On February 2, the actor shared some behind-the-scenes details about the process with People. “There’s a lot of improv,” he told the outlet. “We did go to rehearsal just to be professional about it, but in the back of my head, I was kind of figuring…I kind of knew the moves I wanted to do.” 

He also mentioned that filming a Super Bowl commercial was a huge accomplishment for the two of them. "It's really been an incredible year for both Keleigh and I, not just professionally but personally,” he stated. “So, when Bud Light came and wanted us to be a part of a Super Bowl commercial, I mean, that's the top of the mountain as far as these things go. We always look forward to watching them."
