Ophelia’s father Polonius says this famous line in Hamlet, highlighting the value of being short and to the point. We’ve taken his word for it and have condensed some of Shakespeare’s most famous plays into one-line plot summaries. Reckon you can guess them?

Shakespeare’s plays have been adapted time and time again for stage and screen, sometimes concealed as different stories – the musical West Side Story is inspired by Romeo and Juliet, and 10 Things I Hate About You is loosely based on The Taming of the Shrew.
