A pocket money survey reckons most kids still expect to do chores for their pocket money.

The survey from bank NatWest's Rooster app found that parents are less likely to give their kids pocket money regularly than compared to last year.

It says that's partly because of the cost of living crisis - this is the effect of the rising cost of food and energy.

It found that just 30% of families will regularly give out pocket money - on average children are getting £3.78 a week.

But, it did find that children are earning the same amount of money, by working harder through jobs around the house or through a side hustle - so by doing things like a paper round or babysitting.

According to the survey only 14% of kids' earnings now come from regular pocket money.
