What is it? The Range Rover Velar P400e is the first plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) in the Velar range, though its builder, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), prefers to call such vehicles “electric hybrids”. The Velar, meanwhile, is the mid-size Rangie, sitting between the RR Evoque and RR Sport.

What does it cost? It’s $138,800 plus on-road costs, making it the dearest Velar. Lesser models (and there are plenty of them) start at $98,600 plus on-road costs.
