    There was much angst and blowback when Ford decided to slap the name Mustang on an SUV, even more so when that SUV turned out to be fully electric.

    But Ford isn’t exactly known for EVs, and an electric SUV was always going to be expensive, so you can understand why it chose a name that for many is exciting and aspirational. And it’s not as if the newcomer replaces the long-running coupe, which continues with its 5-litre V8 option.
