Summary

ACE released Race and Ethnicity in Higher Education: 2024 Status Report along with updates to the accompanying website on May 21, 2024. This event was livestreamed in Washington, DC.

Race and Ethnicity in Higher Education: 2024 Status Report is an updated overview of various topics in higher education—including undergraduate and graduate student enrollment, completion, student debt, and financing—by race and ethnicity. It also includes an overview of the racial and ethnic backgrounds of faculty, staff, and college presidents. The release event explored key findings from the report.

The Race and Ethnicity in Higher Education project creates a data-informed foundation from which the higher education community and its many stakeholders can examine racial disparities in educational opportunities and outcomes, draw insights, raise new questions, and make the case for why race still matters in American higher education.

Race and Ethnicity in Higher Education: 2024 Status Report was made possible through the generous support of the Mellon Foundation. The accompanying website was generously supported by the Mellon Foundation and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.
